Within the scope of the Project for the Improvement of Foreign Language Education (YADEG) funded by the Presidential Investment Programme and carried out by the Presidency, training on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is organised in order to help English teachers working in schools and institutions shape their teaching, learning and assessment-evaluation processes according to the current version of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the Companion Volume.
I have completed the complementary volume training with success.
I have had a chance to practice with the best English teachers in my city.
Through group work and presentations, we actively practiced and deepened our understanding of the course topics. Collaborating in groups allowed us to exchange ideas, analyze concepts like the CEFR’s key principles, and apply them to practical scenarios. Presentations provided opportunities to articulate our learning, demonstrate how CEFR-aligned curricula can be developed, and receive feedback to refine our understanding. This interactive approach enhanced both our knowledge and our ability to communicate and apply the concepts effectively.

Through this course, I have gained a clear understanding of the CEFR’s key concepts, including learner-centered approaches, positive "can-do" descriptors, and the importance of aligning curricula, teaching, and assessment. I have learned how to adapt CEFR principles to local contexts, use Reference Level Descriptions (RLDs) for course planning, and involve teachers in curriculum development and implementation. This knowledge equips me to design and support effective, contextually relevant language programmes aligned with CEFR standards.
